Just to confirm: problem is back in 1.8.9p3-1. I'm still using systemd, but maybe systemd is a red herring and it depends on other factors, e.g. gcc version. I just rebuilt 1.8.9~rc1-1 and 1.8.9p3-1 with the same toolchain (latest gcc-4.8 from testing):
