Package: gnome-session Version: 3.8.4-3 Severity: important Hi,
my Gnome screen freezes or goes blank from time to time. When this happens, it is impossible to switch to a terminal to restart gnome, so all I can do is reboot my machine. It happens randomly using almost any application, but it is far more common to see that happen while using Nautilus, Iceweasel or Chromium (all installed from the default testing apt-sources). I have a GeForce 6800 XT card install and I'm using the NVIDIA driver version 304.116 with XOrg 1.14.5 (again, all installed from the default testing apt-sources). I believe I can help solve this by providing logs or machine configuration, but I might need some orientation about what to do to get the machine to write useful logs. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.12-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-session depends on: ii gnome-session-bin 3.8.4-3 ii gnome-session-common 3.8.4-3 ii gnome-settings-daemon 3.8.5-2 ii gnome-shell 3.8.4-5 gnome-session recommends no packages.
