Package: init-select
Version: 1.20140105
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

/etc/default/init doesn't follow the common practise to be a sourcable
shell code fragment and doesn't seem allow for documenting inline
comments.

>From neither of the two included man-pages it is clear what exactly to
write into /etc/default/init, so some tool (maybe called "select-init"
or "init-select") with an interface similar to "update-alternatives
--config" which lists all currently available options and let the user
easily choose one by only typing a number and enter (or similar).

In the long term, maybe using update-alternatives for the init system
choice can be an option and may make this package superfluous.
