Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Version: 2:2.21.15-1+b2 Recent update shows a black screen on "startx". This is with kernel 3.7.5 and 3.12.6. I have i915.modeset=1 in the kernel line which is necessary for the console. Tried with and without xorg.conf. The only error anywhere is in .xsession-errors:
