Package: procps

Severity: normal

Hi,

I have an i386 Wheezy VM here, with a 64-bit PAE enabled and 5000MB of memory,
running sid's 686-pae Linux kernel.

This reports total memory wrong:

total used free shared buffers cached
  Mem: 894873600 1310076928 3879763968 0 180985856 708485120
  -/+ buffers/cache: 420605952 474267648
  Swap: 0 0 0

... while this reports it fine:

total used free shared buffers cached
  Mem: 4949 1248 3700 0 172 675
  -/+ buffers/cache: 400 4548
  Swap: 0 0 0

`free -b' seems to report the memory size roughly modulo 4GB: this is
corroborated by the fact that on the same VM with 8GB of RAM, it
reports about 4GB of total memory.

All this work just fine in a Squeeze VM that's otherwise very similar
(same CPU, same kernel, same amount of memory).

Cheers,
