Package: amavisd-new
Version: 1:2.7.1-2
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

I recently switched to amavisd-new and noticed that the amavis cronjob
tried to sent the following mail to amavis@mydomain:
--- SNIP ---
From: Cron Daemon <root@mydomain>
Subject: Cron <amavis@mydomain> test -e /usr/sbin/amavisd-new-cronjob &&
/usr/sbin/amavisd-new-cronjob sa-sync

config: created user preferences file: /var/lib/amavis/.spamassassin/user_prefs
--- SNIP ---

I didn't have a mailbox for this account, so the mail got stuck in the MTA
queues.
Since there are n+1 MTA/MDA I think the easiest and most "portable" solution
would
be: add an alias entry into /etc/aliases. E.g.:

amavis: root

Now the mail gets redirected to root [or postmaster]. which is kind of what
other
programs like "logcheck" already do. So maybe the debian preinstall code which
is executed during the installation can be copied from there?

Regards,

Christian
