You may have seen that 

 a) MySQL is just one of several backends here:

    postgresql-client | mysql-client | sqlite3 | sqlite

 b) Releases of beancounter have not been exactly frequent of late (and I am
    both upstream and maintainer)

That said, I'll be happy to take care of this. Eventually.
