Package: evince Version: 3.10.0-1+b1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
When printing some PDF's using Evince CUPS fails with an "unexpected brace token" error. /var/log/cups/error_log ... E [21/Dec/2013:12:20:06 -0800] [Job 423] Exception: /var/spool/cups/d00423-001 (file position 2592): unexpected brace token ... Printing from other programs produce no such error. Both 'lpr' and the PDF viewer inside Google Chrome work. $ lpr plot1.pdf To generate a PDF that will produce an error in Evince the following steps were performed. Octave is first to generate a plot file. $ cat plot1.m x = [1 2 3 4]; y = x; stairs(x, y); print('plot1.eps', '-deps'); $ octave plot1.m (generates plot1.eps) Then it is converted from .eps to .pdf $ epspdf plot1.eps (generates plot1.pdf) Then if it is opened and printed the "unexpected brace token" error will result. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.11-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages evince depends on: ii evince-common 3.10.0-1 ii gnome-icon-theme-symbolic 3.10.1-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.10.0-2 ii libc6 2.17-97 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.12.16-2 ii libcairo2 1.12.16-2 ii libevdocument3-4 3.10.0-1+b1 ii libevview3-3 3.10.0-1+b1 ii libgail-3-0 3.8.6-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.28.2-1+b1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.36.4-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.8.6-1 ii libice6 2:1.0.8-2 ii libnautilus-extension1a 3.8.2-2 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.36.0-1+b1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.36.0-1+b1 ii libsecret-1-0 0.15-2 ii libsm6 2:1.2.1-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-1 ii libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-3 ii shared-mime-info 1.0-1+b1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1 Versions of packages evince recommends: ii dbus-x11 1.6.18-2 ii gvfs 1.16.3-1+b2 Versions of packages evince suggests: ii nautilus 3.8.2-2 ii poppler-data 0.4.6-4 pn unrar <none> -- no debconf information
