Package: pepperflashplugin-nonfree Version: 1.1 Severity: wishlist Cc: Ariel <asmaril...@dsgml.com>
As explained here by Ariel http://www.deb-multimedia.org/lurker/message/20131219.101816.82419efa.en.html - it would be very good when this package would automatically download new version. The flash plugin is one of the most important packages to get updated next to the browser itself because they are always interacting with external sources (aka World Wide Web) which cannot be trusted. It is also a not well hidden secret that the flash plugin is one of the most vulnerable pieces and therefore has to be updated quite fast to keep the users safe. The current pepperflashplugin-nonfree and flashplugin-nonfree packages are not updated via the normal debian sources and tools but have to be updated using not easy understandable commands ("easy" as in "every user capable of handling a package manager and has this thing installed will run it because it is logical and a everybody knows about it and understands why it must be done") It is currently not known how to best implement it but this bug may be used to discuss it --- System information. --- Architecture: amd64 Kernel: Linux 3.11-2-amd64 Debian Release: jessie/sid 500 unstable http.debian.net -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
