Yes. You should start with the current git head preferably ( git clone git://git.savannah.gnu.org/parted.git ). Running make check runs the set of scripts in the tests/ directory. You should be able to look at a few of them to get a feel for it and use one ( t2200-dos-label-recog.sh looks like a good one ) as a starting template to test the atari partition table.
