-- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.11-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR@euro, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR@euro (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash We use wheezy, jessie and ubuntu too, and some are UTF8, others ISO8859-1. It may not be a good idea that the server sets the locale from /etc/pam.d/sshd. The terminal we use, (PuTTY par example) is already set with it's own locale, and the locale to use for a session should be that one from the terminal, not the one set by sshd. Do you agree? In case you do, can you comment line 44 in /etc/pam.d/sshd. The others config files (login, lightdm...) are ok since access is done localy. But when the access is remote from the servern the locale to use is set by the terminal, and line 44 overides the work done at the terminal :) Thanks a lot !
