Bug#731370: gnome: background flashes blue on entering and leaving activity menu

It just happened again, directly after the root- and home partition has 
been checked with fsck.
The mouse cursor disappeared until I switched the user and the desktop 
environment from "System default" (that is gnome) to "Gnome".
