Package: util-linux
Version: 2.20.1-5.3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have a VM inside VMWare (not mine), where executing blockdev --setrw
does not work:

# blockdev -v --setrw /dev/mapper/vol0-root
set read-write succeeded.
# mount  -oremount,rw /dev/mapper/vol0-root
mount: cannot remount block device /dev/mapper/vol0-root read-write, is
write-protected

It would be great if blockdev could report that the operation failed,
instead of claiming that it succeeded, unless it would be possible to
make it actually succeed.

Kind regards,
--Toni++
