Package: nagios3 Version: 3.4.1-3 Tags: upstream The first_notification_delay setting allows the user to specify a delay before notification.
For example, if a disk regularly crosses the warning threshold for periods of 5 minutes but always comes back down again, setting the first_notification_delay to 30 can reduce the amount of noise. However, this setting also impacts the notifications for critical alerts. It is quite possible that somebody may want to ignore the short-lived warnings but receive immediate notification when the state hits the critical threshold.
