(#728444) Also xpdf does suffer from this bug. There is a patch for libfontconfig that disable pthreads again (it was never enabled before and it is not really a performance problem), but the maintainer refuses to use the patch for, for my opinion, not elusive reasons. I put a version _with_ this patch to my own server[0]. You may try to install them. But note, that packages are unofficial and build by myself.
