Package: libmatchbox1
Severity: wishlist

Continuing the removal of GPE from Debian. Upstream has been dead
for some time. The environment itself is aimed at a dead platform
(iPAQ) and is unsuitable for use on current devices like phones or
tablets without widescale modification. I've no interest in maintaining
it any longer but rather than simply orphan ~60 packages, I've decided
to seek removal on the basis that the orphaned environment would be
unmaintainable in the long term. There is zero prospect of GPE ever
being ported to GTK3.

GPE based packages have mostly been removed from Debian already, the
remaining ones include libxsettings-client upon which libmatchbox1
depends.

Is it possible for matchbox to migrate away from libxsettings support?

Is there someone who cares about matchbox enough to take over
maintenance of libxsettings and libxsettings-client?

The same problem affects matchbox-window-manager, so I'll clone this to
that package to retain a link.
