Bug#719538: cinnamon: upstream has released cinnamon 1.8 please package it.

I want to try to update packages and dependencies of cinnamon if I have 
enough time.
For a few days I have trouble reaching the debian repositories.
Is it my connection problemor  anonscm.debian.org server problem?
