I am running 2.6.5-4. So I have removed the file.

udevadm trigger was not sufficient, I still had the messages about
unreachable ups. I was able to reboot the server, and now it seems to
run OK. The regular messages on the console have stopped and running
upsc from a remote host was able to list information on the ups.

Thanks a lot for your help.

best regards,
