Hi,
the parameter request list sent by ISC's dhclient as configured by the Network
Manager contains duplicate entries.
E.g. the default request list on Wheezy (/etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf) is:
request subnet-mask, broadcast-address, time-offset, routers,
domain-name, domain-name-servers, domain-search, host-name,
dhcp6.name-servers, dhcp6.domain-search,
netbios-name-servers, netbios-scope, interface-mtu,
rfc3442-classless-static-routes, ntp-servers;
NetworkManager uses this and adds the following to his configuration file
(e.g. /var/run/nm-dhclient-eth0.conf):
also request rfc3442-classless-static-routes;
also request ms-classless-static-routes;
also request wpad;
also request ntp-servers;
In this case rfc3442-classless-static-routes and ntp-servers are requested
twice.
dhcpdump is a nice tool which shows you the duplicate requests made by
dhclient because of this configuration:
