I'm picking mono-gac since it seems the most specific of the three; maybe the maintainers there can take a look at it or suggest some other way to try to reproduce? My attempt to reproduce: * install fresh wheezy i386 system * apt-get install libgmime2.6-cil (installs 2.6.10-1) * echo deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian sid main >>\ /etc/apt/sources.list * apt-get update * apt-get install libgmime2.6-cil (upgrades to 2.6.19-2) this terminated cleanly and promptly, with none of the hangs you've described. --dkg
