It worked, I followed these steps:

* Install libglib2.0-0 and libglib2.0-dev (2.38.1-2) from experimental
* Get Ubuntu source package for libgphoto2 (2.5.2-0ubuntu5) and gvfs
  (1.18.2-0ubuntu1).
* Compile libgphoto2 package, install it.
* Compile gvfs package and install it.

I had to recompile gvfs to make sure it was using my new libgphoto2
library, and I couldn't just rebuild the debian version (1.16.3-1),
because it fails.
