This should have been fixed automatically via the upgrade.  I assume that
part worked but your worry is someone changing it back afterwards?

I suppose the init script could check for either, but now I wonder if that
file shouldn't also have a comment saying that you were really looking for
dpkg-reconfigure openafs-client and missed.  (The point about a centrally
managed copy that works with various versions of the package is
well-taken, though.)
