yaml-cpp 0.5.x series introduce overhauled API which almost completely non-backwards compatible. While some projects migrated to 0.5.x api, others have not. Their respective upstreams also stated that it is on the roadmap, but hard to do at the moment. To mitigate the problem, several distributions have re-introduced yaml-cpp0.3 package. Please consider re-uploading yaml-cpp0.3 source package that provides yaml-cpp0.3 and yaml-cpp0.3-dev.
