Except it doesn't really work that way.

I (as lightdm maintainer) don't exactly want to push any user towards
one solution or another (and this is why I'm actually pretty (m/s)ad. 

All this circus since the early days of hal and the multiple rewrites…

Right now, switching to logind means breaking the setup of pretty much
everyone, I feel. It's especially true of Xfce users, but not only. And
it also a decision which obviously depend on what Debian as a whole (or
the tech-ctte or whatever) wants the init system to be.

I'm pretty tired of all this. I don't have an opinion, I'd just like
stuff to just work. And I have the feeling I'm not the only one.
