Hi all,
I think I bumped on the same problem with a fresh wheezy 7.2.0
netinstall, installed on a usb pen drive.
While attempting to install wheezy on a mac mini (version 5,1) by
booting this usb netinstall, the installer asks me to insert a removable
media which contains the firmwares :
Some of your hardware needs non-free firmware files to
operate. The firmware can be loaded from removable media, such as a USB
stick or floppy.
The missing firmware files are: b43/ucode29_mimo.fw
b43-open/ucode29_mimo.fw
If you have such media available now, insert it, and
continue.
Load missing firmware from removable media ?
Then I plug a FAT-formatted usb drive on which I had put the missing
files, then select <Yes>. After 3 seconds, I am presented the same
screen that suggests me to insert a removable media with missing firmwares.
I initially thought what was wrong was that the files I had put on the
usb stick were wrong, but after analyzing the logs, I found that
debian-installer doesn't actually attempt to mount the FAT partition of
my usb stick, as can be shown in the logs section below :

Nov 6 14:00:51 check-missing-firmware: missing firmware files
(b43/ucode29_mimo.fw b43-open/ucode29_mimo.fw) for b43 b43
On a side note, the workaround found by Hans Linkels ( "have the
additional media inserted __while__booting__the_installer__") doesn't
seem to work for me.
Also, this bug seems to be an old bug
