Hello, i had the same problem on a PowerBook g4, kernel 3.10.
Found a hint in another bug-report on google: It turns out that module "i2c_powermac" simply wasn't loaded. This module is the driver for the i2c bus, on which the snd_aoa-modules depend. Makes sense, huh? For whatever reason the module isn't autoloaded anymore. A simple "modprobe i2c_powermac" made my soundcard work again. Next step: enter the module in /etc/modules and be happy.
