Following http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=tasksel/tasksel.git;a=commitdiff;h=e147e1197344ba30b6751da62bdeae4c326431ee tasksel no longer depends on aptitude. This was released in tasksel 3.10, so tasks no longer depend on aptitude in Debian 7.
It might nevertheless be a good idea to make tasks depend on tasksel-data rather than tasksel, but I am not going to drive this change further.
