We have plans to merge the ploop kernel code upstream (in one way or another). vzctl is currently built for: i386, amd64, ia64, powerpc and sparc ploop is possible to build for i386 and amd64. I raise this question as there is a problem to have a build dependency on ploop if ploop can not be built for the same (or more) architectures as vzctl.
