"mysql-server-5.5" (which always asks for a root password) as a test dependency, and I didn't see a debconf prompt with adt-run. I tried this with both the schroot and the null runner. adt-run already sets DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive, so I suppose this either doesn't stick in some cases or it's not applied correctly.
