Package: blueman Version: 1.23+update1-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, This is on a jessie/testing machine. Correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand it blueman is a GUI to play around with bluetooth settings. Now in this system/motherboard there is no support for bluetooth. I disabled bluetooth via rcconf as it makes no sense to have it enabled when there is no hardware to support it.
Now in .xsession-errors I get the following :- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/blueman/plugins/BasePlugin.py", line 65, in _load self.on_load(parent) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/blueman/plugins/applet/KillSwitch.py", line 52, in on_load raise Exception("Failed to initialize killswitch manager") Exception: Failed to initialize killswitch manager /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/blueman/plugins/applet/AppIndicator.py:44: Warning: /tmp/buildd/glib2.0-2.36.4/./gobject/gsignal.c:2475: signal `child-added' is invalid for instance `0x1005460' of type `GtkMenu' self.indicator.set_menu(applet.Plugins.Menu.get_menu()) Now I don't know about bluetooth much so any understanding whether it's a bug or not would be much appreciated. From my naiviety understanding blueman should check if bluetooth service is running or not. If it's not running it should not do anything. $ sudo rcconf --list | grep bluetooth bluetooth off Looking forward to understand. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (600, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental'), (1, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.10-3-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN, LC_CTYPE=en_IN (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages blueman depends on: ii bluez 4.101-3 ii dbus 1.6.16-1 ii gnome-icon-theme 3.8.3-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.10.0-2 ii libbluetooth3 4.101-3 ii libc6 2.17-93 ii libcairo2 1.12.16-2 ii libfontconfig1 2.10.2-2 ii libfreetype6 2.4.9-1.1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.28.2-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.36.4-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.21-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libpangoft2-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libpulse-mainloop-glib0 4.0-6+b1 ii libpython2.7 2.7.5-8 ii librsvg2-common 2.36.4-2 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-3 ii notification-daemon 0.7.6-1 ii obex-data-server 0.4.5-1+b3 ii plasma-widgets-workspace [notification-daemon] 4:4.10.5-3 ii python 2.7.5-5 ii python-appindicator 0.4.92-2 ii python-dbus 1.2.0-2+b1 ii python-gi 3.8.2-1 ii python-gtk2 2.24.0-3+b1 ii python-notify 0.1.1-3 ii xfce4-notifyd [notification-daemon] 0.2.4-2 Versions of packages blueman recommends: ii policykit-1 0.105-4 ii python-gconf 2.28.1+dfsg-1 blueman suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
