There are multiple (probably related) problems with pulseaudio: The first problem (in syslog): Oct 20 15:57:29 victor pulseaudio[4201]: [pulseaudio] authkey.c: Failed to open cookie file '/home/porton/.config/pulse/cookie': No such file or directory Oct 20 15:57:29 victor pulseaudio[4201]: [pulseaudio] authkey.c: Failed to load authorization key '/home/porton/.config/pulse/cookie': No such file or directory Oct 20 15:57:31 victor pulseaudio[4204]: [pulseaudio] authkey.c: Failed to open cookie file '/home/porton/.config/pulse/cookie': No such file or directory Oct 20 15:57:31 victor pulseaudio[4204]: [pulseaudio] authkey.c: Failed to load authorization key '/home/porton/.config/pulse/cookie': No such file or directory The other problems: Skype 4.2.0.11 sometimes produces no sound at all and sometimes sound+noise. (Microphone in Skype seems to work without any problems whatsoever however.)
