Package: debhelper Version: 4.9.15 Severity: important The prerm snippet from dh_installinit calls exit 0 if invoke-rc.d returns an error (which comes from start-stop-daemon --stop with the default script from dh_make if the daemon doesn't run).
This makes the other snippet not run and the cleanup incomplete.
