Hi Andriy, when I reported the bug#722113 against menu-cache 0.5.0-1, I hadn't looked at the git.
The commit [1] was already sufficient; well, you've already made the commit [2], and it's a little bit excessive: IMHO, according to the Debian policy [3], the best combination in this case is "Breaks + Replaces".
