Hi, Apologies for missing this; I wrongly assumed that sbuild installed recommended packages by default, and this probably made be blind to the truth as I grepped "apt-cache show pandoc" for pandoc-data... We only see what we want to see :( The problem is indeed that pandoc-data is not pulled by pandoc at build time, For the purpose of building manpages with pandoc, the solution is either to build-depend on pandoc-data, or to make pandoc depend instead of recommend pandoc-data.
