I checked automake scripts, and debian/rules, and nowhere /usr/lib is
hardcoded. Could it be an autoconf/libtool issue ?
The logs shows that both libexecdir and libdir are set to /usr/lib:
(...)
Configured with: ../src/configure (...) --libexecdir=/usr/lib (...)
--libdir=/usr/lib
I'll dig a little bit more, but I don't see any obvious mistake in the
build scripts.
