I think you only need to install sox which is then responsible to play the wav files, but sox seems to be installed in your system. However, eboard won't play any sound when you move a piece, you first need to update the default settings in Settings -> Preference -> Sounds. You can also install the eboard-extras-pack1 package which contains some configured wav files.
