i am having same problem, after dist-upgrade yesterday (i am also debian
unstable). i can dismiss the menu by reclicking it, but nothing in the
menu responds.
additionally, when mouse goes to upper left corner, or one clicks on the
Activities menu, gnome-panel becomes completely unresponsive and need to
do service gdm3 restart.
i see this in ~/.xsession-errors each time i click in gnome-panel:
