Package: plymouth
Version: 0.8.8-6+deb8u1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I have a fresly installed Debian Testing. I have installed plymouth
(as it is described on https://wiki.debian.org/plymouth). During boot,
no text is displayed. Instead small white rectangles are drawn instead
of characters. This occurs, depending on the theme, for instance
during querying of a password for an encrypted partition. I have tried
several schemes (fade-in, spinfinity, details, script...).

After changing the theme with plymouth-set-default-theme, i have
rebuilt the the initrd with update-initramfs.

It seems that http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=707765
describes my problem quite accurately. But for me the problem is not
resolved.

I have made pictures of the bug:

Thanks for your help,
mel
