Thanks to Robert Bihlmeyer & Lionel Elie Mamane (see bug #711846) Debian's sawfish has a backport of the workaround for the window size, taken from latest SF. Firefox still has "program specified maximum size: 1073741824 by 1073741824" set for their windows but SF became immune to those values. The patch that upstream does not want to apply to the ESR should fix problems in other software like olvwm. The other option seems to be installing FF/Iceweasel 23 from experimental.
