Correct, seems nobody is interested enough in the feature to do the necessary work. George is tracking it as an item for upstream 4.4 release[0] but AFAIK this doesn't imply that there is anybody working on it. I'm not sure ow worthwhile it is to track this as a Debian bug. Ian.
