I've investigasted this a bit on arm (which has exactly the same problem as s390), and found that the reason for > /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lXxf86vm
is that it is not present. It is part of the libxxf86vm1 package On i386 this package is brought in by xlibmesa-gl(-dev), but on arm (and presumably s390) xlibmesa-gl does not depend on libxxf86vm1, so libxxf86vm1 is not installed. I'm not sure why the dependencies are different on different architectures. If the dependencies are really correct then egoboo needs to include a specific dependency on libxxf86vm1. If they are wrong then a bug needs filing against xlibmesa-gl. I will file such a bug and reference this one and hopefully the strike force will get to the bottom of this.
