Apparently, the command works for me as well. Sorry, I must have done 
something very odd, like typing "texdef --tex latexdef" or something.

However, I think that /usr/bin/latexdef should still be a symlink to 
/usr/bin/texdef. Otherwise, none of the examples from the texdef help-text 
will work since they all use latexdef directly.
