In 2005, I wrote:

As of 0.63 (not yet packaged) we do this (r9529/r9535 upstream,
committed in May 2012).

(Also the whole basis of timing was changed around the same time in
r9528; I don't know if that gets rid of this symptom. Also, heavens,
this bug has been around since 2005, I don't know if that's the only
change to the timing arrangements in all that time. I wouldn't be
surprised if this bug is long gone.)
