Package: speechd-el Version: 2.5-6 Severity: wishlist In you don't have the speech-dispatcher program installed then
emacs24 -q M-x speechd-speak-mode C-x C-c # to exit emacs => error "Searching for program: no such file or directory, speech-dispatcher" where I hoped that the absence of the program would not prevent exiting emacs. In some combination of modes which alas I don't seem to easily reproduce, I had seemed to get it even worsely wedged to the point where M-x was an error too and so couldn't even enter commands to turn off the mode. Perhaps the absence of the necessary program could beep or message but not be an error. The initial speechd-speak-mode might check for the necessary program and refuse to turn on the mode if it won't work. But ideally you'd like a later disappearance of the program to be handled gracefully too. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-486 Locale: LANG=en_AU, LC_CTYPE=en_AU (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages speechd-el depends on: ii base-files 7.1 ii emacs23-lucid [emacs23] 23.4+1-4 ic emacs24 24.3+1-1 ii emacs24-lucid [emacs24] 24.3+1-1 ii emacsen-common 2.0.5 ii make 3.81-8.2 Versions of packages speechd-el recommends: ii sharutils 1:4.11.1-2 Versions of packages speechd-el suggests: pn brltty <none> pn speech-dispatcher <none> pn speechd-el-doc-cs <none> -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
