package: dpkg-dev severity: important version: 1.17.1 Not sure why this affects only one specific build-dependency, but it seems that dpkg-buildpackage happily goes on to start building chromium even when its (current) binutils-gold build-dependency is not installed. Other chromium build-dependencies when missing will be flagged as such by dpkg-buildpackage.
Not sure if this is a new issue, since the trigger that made the problem pop up is that as of a week ago there is no longer a binutils-gold package in unstable.
