Package: mysql-server-5.0 Version: 5.0.13rc-1 Severity: important
On systems where /var/lib/mysql is a symlink, the install scripts create a symlink "/var/lib/mysql/DATADIR.lnk" pointing to the new mysql data dir (I guess this was a fix for a previous bug). This, however, breaks some client functionality. Greatest impact is that 'mysqldump --all-databases' returns with "Incorrect database name 'DATADIR.link' when selecting the database" (as do other mysql client progs), and dumps nothing. This also happens with (at least) mysql-server-4.1, too.
