Hi all,

Came here to check on the status of this bug. It pretty much makes the
default version of bind9 on sarge useless for any production environment
(except perhaps authoritative-only servers). For nameservers that have
been upgraded to sarge, I've been forced to use the package from etch/sid.

The queries are so slow that the initial query will always drop to the
2nd nameserver listed in /etc/resolv.conf (assuming the first is the one
running the sarge version and the 2nd is another nameserver). For
someone who didn't know better, they might think debian was just running
slow. :-(

Not sure if this is feasible but perhaps the package should be built
with ipv6 disabled (which I believe will fix the problem). The vast
majority (as in 99.9%) of users will not be using bind in an ipv6
environment.

Anyway, hoping this bug gets fixed soon.

Regards,
Ed
