looks like a bug in the paramiko ssh client library, but i can't reproduce it in a plain sid chroot :-( could you retest the following things to help me narrow down the list of potential problems? . move your client side .ssh/config out of the way, and retry . create a blank .ssh/known_hosts on the client side, and retry . are you using ssh keys for authentication? what type? if so, please retry with them moved out of the way on the client and password authentication via $FTP_PASSWORD regards az -- Alexander Zangerl + GPG Key 0x42BD645D or 0x5B586291 + http://snafu.priv.at/ And God spoke: There shall be packets.
