Hi, I just noticed that syslog-ng-core does use a custom scheme based on triggers, to start the service. My patch was modelled after the rsyslog patch [1] which uses a simple restart-after-upgrade.
We might double check, if everything works as expected in syslog-ng-core. Sorry for not catching that earlier.
