Package: xdg-utils Version: 1.1.0~rc1+git20111210-7 Followup-For: Bug #685304
I would like to add that this problem also appears when using cinnamon. It is not reported as a gnome session, but the fallback mechanism in xdg-open assumes it is gnome, and that it should have gnome-open. This made me scratch my head for a while, since this usually fails silently, because you are trying to open a link from a graphical interface which does not show the errors. $ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION cinnamon $ echo $GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID this-is-deprecated -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.9-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_IE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash xdg-utils depends on no packages.
